Just west of the “Historic” portion of US-80 in Louisiana was my regular drive back home from college. Often, I forwent the interstate. Instead, I chose to take the slower, but more relaxing and enjoyable US-80 from Ruston to Bossier City. I believe the historic portion of the highway only goes out to Simsboro, but in my opinion it should be extended to Minden. From the quite town of Arcadia, to the site of Bonnie and Clyde’s deaths near Gibsland, to the German influence of Minden, highway 80 offers more in addition to what the officially historic segment has. So I decided to make a few stops on my way home one weekend in addition to a few other photos that are on the roll.
