Around last fall or early winter, I drove out to both the Red River Wildlife Refuge and Lake Bistineau to try out a roll of infrared film. Rollei Infrared 400 to be precise. Though it was not the best time to do infrared photography as it really shines when everything is lush and green. As infrared light reflects well off of green vegetation. Though, I’ll try again this next year when Lake Bistineau does its draw down. The lake looks almost alien with how green the bed is and how the cypress trees stick out of the water.
One thing you will have to excuse is the dust on all the photos as well as weird development spots. I developed and scanned these at home and one of the biggest challenges is keeping everything as dust free as I can, but to no avail. This was also more of a test roll, and I was not taking as great of care as I probably should have. And thus, I have an amazing heron image tarnished by dust and development spots.
