After shooting a few rolls of Fujifilm and slide film. I wanted to explore some of the other options. That led me to buy one of each of Cinestill’s film stocks: 800T, 50D, and Black and White XX. 50D will be featured in a later post while the black and white film was used at Talladega. The photos here were shot on that first roll of 800T that I shot this past March.
Back then, we got some snow one night. Snow is very uncommon in northern Louisiana. We may get an inch every few years. In fact, last year we got three to five inches and the weather never really warmed up to melt it away for a week. Only enough to turn the snow into ice on the roads. No one drove anywhere that week. I wish I were in to film photography at the time. Anyway, when I noticed the snow falling, I instantly took the opportunity to load a camera with 800T and snap some photos. But it wasn’t cold enough to disrupt anything and it melted away by noontime the next day. It made for some good pictures. A few of them are on this roll. But I have some better ones on the 50D roll.
After that, I took the camera with me to Bossier City, out to the Louisiana Boardwalk one night. It’s an outdoor mall located on the bank of the Red River. There I captured some great nighttime photos. Lastly, I finished the roll in Ruston where I took more photos of the Dixie Theater. By this point, I had this idea to get a picture of the theater with all the different film stocks I’ve used to create comparison. I might make a post about that sometime later.
