While this “mountain” may just be a small hill. It is the highest natural point in the state of Louisiana. The trailhead is next to a church on Louisiana highway 507 11 miles south of Simsboro. The trail is only 0.9 miles long but makes for a nice short hike. At the top there is a logbook for visitors to sign and it appears that two to four parties a day make their way up the hill. Also at the summit is an overlook where you can view some of the surrounding hills. Though in the summer, foliage at the overlook makes the surrounding area hard to see. Overall, it was a nice afternoon walk in the woods. On my way home I stopped by Louisiana Tech to get some photos of the railroad that goes through town.
